AHHH!! Biggest Full Moon of the WHOLE YEAR!

The biggest full moon, of the entire year, is due to arrive this weekend.  The moon will officially become full on Saturday May 5th, 2012.  It will be at 11:35 pm EDT. This means that in the Midwest this moon will be visual at 10:35!  The moon will wing in 221,802 miles from our planet, offering skywatchers a spectacular view of a bigger and much brighter moon!  It has been nicknamed a supermoon!!  The moon's perigee coincide with full moon this month, but this perigee will be the nearest to earth of any this year, the distance of the moon's close approach varies by about 3 percent.  This happens because the moon's orbit is not perfectly circular.
